WEEKLY THERAPY FOR WOMEN IN CALIFORNIA
A sustained rhythm for the work that unfolds over time.
Online weekly therapy for hyper-independent women across California carrying attachment trauma, complex relational patterns, and the slow shape of change that only shows up when the container is consistent.
You've been thinking about therapy for months. You know you want the deeper work. You're just not sure if now is the season for an intensive.
Maybe your calendar can't hold five consecutive days of processing right now. Maybe you'd rather build the therapeutic relationship for a season before deciding about deeper work. Maybe you already know intensive work isn't what your life needs, but ongoing therapy with someone who specializes in what you're carrying is.
The women who come to me for weekly therapy are not a lesser version of my intensive clients. They're the same women in a different season of life. Same clinical lens. Same specialization in attachment trauma and complex PTSD. Different rhythm.
If you want the ongoing work of a specialist who understands the specific shape of what hyper-independent women carry, this is where that starts.
WHY WEEKLY THERAPY WHEN I SPECIALIZE IN INTENSIVES
Some work belongs in a container. Some work belongs in a rhythm.
Intensives are built for concentrated depth in a bounded time. Weekly therapy is built for the work that only reveals itself across weeks and months. Both are legitimate. Neither is a lesser version of the other.
If your life gives you the room to plan an intensive right now, that's the fastest path to concentrated change. If it doesn't, or if you'd rather do the slower work of building a therapeutic relationship over time, weekly therapy is designed for exactly that.
The format is different. The depth is the same.
THE RHYTHM, IN DETAIL
What weekly therapy actually looks like with me
Weekly work doesn't have a phase-based arc the way an intensive does. But it does have a rhythm. Here's what that rhythm looks like in the first few months.
THE FIRST SEVERAL WEEKS
01
Building the ground
Early sessions focus on mapping your history, your current patterns, and what you're actually carrying underneath the presenting concern. We build the therapeutic relationship and identify what your nervous system needs before we go deeper. Sessions in this phase tend to feel more conversational.
THE MIDDLE STRETCH
02
Moving through the material
Once the ground is stable, we begin the deeper work. This includes EMDR when the material calls for it, IFS-informed work, somatic tracking, and attachment-focused conversation. The specific mix depends on you. Not every session uses EMDR. Some do. The clinical lens stays consistent throughout.
03
THE LONGER ARC
The work that shows up over time
Some patterns only reveal themselves once you've been in weekly work for months. That's part of the point. The rhythm creates the space for material that concentrated work would miss. Some clients continue for years. Others eventually decide they want the concentrated container of an intensive. Both are valid.
IS THIS THE RIGHT WORK FOR YOU
Who I work with in weekly therapy
Weekly therapy with me is designed for a specific kind of client. Not every prospect is a good fit, and one of the things we do on the consultation call is determine whether this is what you actually need.
A STRONG FIT IF
You want ongoing therapeutic work with a specialist in attachment traumaYou're carrying attachment trauma, emotional neglect, or complex relational wounds.
Your life doesn't currently allow for the calendar commitment of an intensiveYou have the time and emotional bandwidth to commit to multi-day work.
You prefer to build the therapeutic relationship over time before deeper work
You've done therapy before and are looking for a different clinical lens
You're a California resident and can commit to a weekly rhythm
NOT THE RIGHT FIT IF
You're in active crisis and need immediate stabilizationYou need ongoing weekly support more than focused intensive work.
You're actively using substances and haven't yet begun recovery work
You need couples, family, or teen therapy
You're outside California
You want the concentrated depth of an intensive right now (the intensives page is where to start)
If you're not sure, the consultation call is the place to find out. There's no pressure either way.
WHAT I WORK WITH IN WEEKLY THERAPY, SPECIFICALLY
The patterns I see most often
Attachment trauma rarely arrives with a clinical label. Most women come to weekly therapy describing one of these patterns by its felt experience. Any of these can be the door you walk through to the deeper work.
-

When you're still stuck after years of therapy
You've done the reading, done the sessions, and understand your patterns. Weekly work with a specialist gives your body the sustained clinical attention it's needed all along.
-

The cost of being the strong one
Hyper-independence is a survival adaptation, not a personality trait. Weekly work gives you a place where the work gets held for you, week after week, until your nervous system trusts it.
-

Anxiety that won't quiet down
The chronic alarm in your body isn't a thinking problem. Weekly work gives the nervous system consistent, sustained clinical attention over time, which is what chronic anxiety actually responds to.
-

Childhood that looked fine from the outside
Attachment wounds in families that didn't look broken often take longer to name. Weekly work gives you a specialist and the time it takes to understand what you were actually carrying.
-

People-pleasing and the lost self
The dissolution of self that came from accommodating other people requires more than coping strategies. Weekly work gives you a consistent place to rebuild access to what you actually want.
Most weekly clients work with more than one of these over time.
INSIDE THE WORK
What weekly sessions actually feel like
Before we start.
We meet for a free 20-minute consultation to figure out whether weekly work with me is the right fit for what you're carrying. If we're a fit, we schedule an initial intake session and go from there.
During the work.
Sessions are 60 minutes online through a HIPAA-compliant platform. The pace is deliberate. When something opens, we have room to be with it. The specific modality depends on what the material needs. EMDR when it calls for it. Attachment-focused work throughout.
Over time.
Some clients work with me for a season. Others for years. Some eventually move into intensive work. The right length depends on what you're carrying and what feels supportive. There's no fixed endpoint and no pressure to convert.
INVESTMENT
Rates and how the payment side works
INVESTMENT
$250 per 60-minute session
A limited number of reduced-fee spots open up throughout the year. If the standard rate isn't workable, we can talk about it on the consultation call.
INSURANCE & REIMBURSEMENT
This practice is private pay. I do not work directly with insurance providers, but many clients use out-of-network benefits for partial reimbursement.
If your insurance has out-of-network benefits, Mentaya handles the reimbursement paperwork on your behalf. It's the closest thing to insurance that a private-pay practice offers.
PAYMENT METHODS
Credit cards, debit cards, HSA and FSA accepted. Payment is due at the time of service.
The free 20-minute consultation is where we discuss whether weekly therapy is the right fit before any commitment.
The rate reflects what this work actually takes. Years of training in attachment trauma and EMDR. Careful preparation for every session. And the clinical range to work with material that most weekly therapy can't fully reach.
COMMON QUESTIONS
What women ask before booking weekly therapy
How is weekly therapy with you different from a general therapist?
I specialize exclusively in attachment trauma and complex PTSD for women. The clinical lens I bring to weekly sessions is the same one I bring to intensive work: EMDR-informed, attachment-focused, and calibrated for hyper-independent women who have often done therapy before without their body catching up.
Will you eventually try to convert me to an intensive?
No. Some weekly clients decide on their own that they want intensive work at some point. Others never do. Both paths are valid. Weekly therapy with me stands on its own and doesn't require a next step.
How does out-of-network reimbursement actually work?
If your insurance has out-of-network mental health benefits, you can typically get partial reimbursement for private-pay therapy. Mentaya handles superbill submission and follow-up with your insurance on your behalf. Their coverage checker will estimate your reimbursement before you commit.
How long do most clients work with you weekly?
There's no fixed timeline. Some clients work with me for a season of specific work. Others work with me for years across multiple life chapters. The right length depends on what you're carrying and what feels supportive.
THE NEXT SMALL STEP
A twenty-minute call. We map your next step together.
If weekly therapy sounds like the right fit for where you are right now, a twenty-minute conversation is a small first step. Most women tell me after that they wish they'd done it sooner.
