EMDR Therapy Intensives in Santa Monica, California

You’ve tried weekly therapy, you understand your patterns. So why does your body still feel on edge, overwhelmed or exhausted?

I offer EMDR Therapy Intensives across California for women who are tired of overthinking, emotionally burnt out, and feeling like their body won’t relax.

Does This Sound Familiar?

This is for you if:

  • You’re high-functioning, self-aware, and have already done therapy

  • You understand your patterns…but still feel stuck in them

  • You’re tired of overthinking everything and not able to turn your mind off

  • You feel emotionally exhausted, even when life “looks fine”

  • You’ve learned how to cope.. but not how to fully process what’s underneath

  • You carry tension in your chest, jaw, or shoulders

If this sounds like you.. you’re not crazy, and your not failing. There’s a reason this is happening.

And for many people… it didn’t start in adulthood.

And for many people… it didn’t start in adulthood.

What’s Actually Happening

Even though you understand your patterns, your nervous system is still responding to what it learned earlier in your life.

So it can feel like you’re always a little “on”.

You may notice:

  • you replay conversations after they happen, wondering if you said the wrong thing

  • you scan people’s tone, body language, or energy without even trying

  • you feel responsible for how others feel even when you know logically you shouldn’t

  • you struggle to fully relax, even in calm moments

  • your mind keeps trying to figure things out, fix things, or stay one step ahead

On the outside, you’re composed, capable, and high-functioning, but internally, there’s a level of pressure that doesn’t fully turn off. For many people, that didn’t start in adulthood. It developed in environments where being aware, responsible, or emotionally cared for wasn’t optional… it was necessary. Because your system learned to operate this way… and hasn’t had the opportunity to fully process it.

And this is the part that often doesn’t shift through insight alone.

How EMDR Therapy Intensives Help

You can understand your patterns, talk through your experiences, and even know exactly where things come from and still feel like your body is reacting in the same ways. That’s because this isn’t just about what you know. It’s about what your nervous system is still holding onto.

EMDR therapy intensives are designed to work at that level. This work is structured and paced so you’re not overwhelmed.. you’re supported as your nervous system processes what it’s been holding onto for years.

Instead of opening something up and then stopping each week, we stay with the work long enough for your brain and body to actually move through what’s been stuck in your nervous system.

So you’re not just:

  • talking about it

  • managing it

  • or trying to stay in control of it

You’re actually processing it and that’s where things begin to shift.

You may start to notice:

  • your mind isn’t constantly trying to stay ahead

  • your body feels less tense or reactive

  • you don’t feel the same pressure to manage everything

  • you can be present without overthinking

Because your nervous system is no longer responding to the past in the same way.

Olivia Lavelle, LCSW- online EMDR Intensives for women in California.

I didn’t start my practice because I believed people needed more coping skills. I started this work because I kept seeing the same patternpeople who were insightful, self-aware, and doing everything they were “supposed” to do in therapy, but still felt stuck. They could set boundaries, communicate, and understand their patterns, yet underneath all of that, their body was still holding onto something that hadn’t been fully processed.

That’s what led me to EMDR intensives. I wanted to move away from surface-level work managing symptoms, adjusting behaviors, and just getting through—and instead create a space where we could actually get to the root. A space where we could understand where these patterns started, why they keep showing up, and how they continue to reappear in different ways, even when you’re trying to do everything right.

My work is focused on helping you process what’s at the root so you’re not just managing your life better, but actually experiencing it differently. If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “Why do I still feel this way even though I understand it?” you’re not doing anything wrong. It simply means your mind has insight, but your body hasn’t had the opportunity to fully process what it’s been holding—and that’s where this work begins.

However, I offer CareCredit, a healthcare financing option that allows you to break the cost of treatment into manageable monthly payments.

If you have questions about payment options, we can discuss what feels most supportive during your consultation.
