EMDR Therapy Intensives for Women in Santa, Monica
Shift the patterns that keep you anxious, overthinking, hyper-independent, or emotionally exhausted… in days instead of months.
You May Recognize Yourself Here…
You’re capable. You’re accomplished. You’ve figured out a lot on your own. And yet, something still feels off.
Maybe you:
Look successful on paper but feel emotionally exhausted inside
Take things personally, even when you tell yourself not to
React strongly to other people’s tone, moods, or comments that linger all day
Overthink interactions after they happen, replaying what you said or didn’t say
Know what should help but your body doesn’t follow logic
The truth is: There is nothing wrong with you. You aren’t defective or failing. Your nervous system adapted in smart, protective ways to help you stay safe when things felt overwhelming. What once protected you just doesn’t need to run your life anymore.
What This Could Look Like Instead
Instead of constantly reacting to other people’s moods, comments, or behavior, you begin to feel steadier inside.
Someone can be short, distant, or disappointing and it doesn’t hijack your entire day.
You still notice what’s happening, but:
You don’t spiral afterward
You don’t replay the interaction on a loop
You don’t turn it inward and assume you did something wrong
You feel more grounded in yourself and clearer about what’s yours to carry — and what isn’t.
Your reactions soften.
Your nervous system has more space.
And you trust yourself to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting automatically.
That’s not because you’re “trying harder.”
It’s because your body no longer has to stay on guard.
EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)
An EMDR Therapy Intensive is focused trauma therapy done in longer, uninterrupted blocks of time, rather than once-a-week sessions stretched out over months or years.
Instead of opening something up and then having to put it away until next week, we work with your nervous system while it’s already engaged, supported, and present.
Think of it as:
Fewer sessions
More depth
Less stopping and starting
It’s designed for people who are ready to do meaningful work and want real movement and not just insight.
What Is an EMDR Therapy Intensive?
Meet Your Santa Monica EMDR Therapist
Hi there, I’m Olivia Lavelle, LCSW
I specialize in EMDR intensives for high-functioning women who learned to be strong early and are ready to stop carrying everything alone.
My work is grounded, relational, and deeply attuned to the nervous system. You won’t be pushed. You won’t be minimized. And you won’t have to earn care here.
Read more about my story on the About Olivia page.
What to Expect During an EMDR Intensive
We meet before you're intensive to gently clarify what you’ve been carrying, what feels heavy, and what relief you’re longing for.
Together, we identify the memories, beliefs, or emotional patterns that keep showing up in your life, so our time together has purpose and direction.
EMDR Intensive Session
Your intensive is customized to your nervous system, your story, and the parts of you that have been working overtime. Options include:
5 Days x 6 hours sessions
5 Days x 3 hour sessions
2 Days x 3 or 6 hours
1 Day x 6 hours
Pre- Intensive Session
You’ll receive a guided workbook created to help you prepare emotionally and mentally. It includes grounding exercises, reflection prompts, and space to explore what you want from this healing experience… at a pace that feels safe.
Post- Intensive Session
We meet again after your intensive to reflect on what shifted, what softened, and what feels different. You’ll receive support in integrating the changes into your daily life, so your healing doesn’t end when our time does.
Personalized Intensive Workbook
EMDR Intensives can help:
Women who learned to survive life through:
achieving
performing
people-pleasing
overthinking
staying “strong”
hiding their real feelings
managing everyone else’s needs
This includes women who experienced:
childhood emotional neglect
mother wounds
inconsistent caregiving
attachment trauma
high conflict homes
being punished for having needs
being praised only when they performed
If you’ve ever said:
“I don’t know who I am without doing.”
“I’m tired of carrying everything.”
“I feel alone even when I’m surrounded by people.”
“My anxiety doesn’t make sense.”
“I want to feel safe, not strong.”
…an EMDR Intensive may be exactly what you’ve needed.
Investment in EMDR Intensives
EMDR Intensives are a focused, time-bound investment in deep healing. Instead of stretching the work out over months or years, we create intentional space to address what’s been keeping you stuck, without rushing or stopping just as things begin to shift.
Each intensive is customized to your nervous system, history, and goals. The structure allows us to move with clarity, momentum, and care.

FAQs about EMDR Intensives
If you have more questions have a look at the FAQ page or reach out.
-
Yes. You don’t need to have previous EMDR experience. We’ll start with preparation and safety-building practices before any reprocessing. You’ll be supported every step of the way.
-
Nope. Some clients come in with a clear memory or belief they want to target, like “I’m not enough” or “I always get left.”
Others just know something feels heavy, but they can’t name it. That’s okay, that’s why I am here. I’ll guide you through identifying what your system is ready to work through, even if you don’t have the words yet.
-
Yes! Some clients prefer to split their intensive across two shorter sessions in the same week, especially if they’re new to EMDR or find long sessions tiring.
You’ll still receive the full 3 hours of healing time, just spread out in a way that feels more manageable for your nervous system. We’ll talk about what works best for you during your consult call.
-
An EMDR intensive isn’t meant to heal your entire life story in one session. Instead, it gives you focused time and support to process something meaningful: a stuck memory, a painful belief, or a moment you keep replaying that still carries emotional weight.
You might leave feeling clearer, lighter, or more grounded in your body. You might notice something that used to trigger you… doesn’t. That’s a big win. But just like all trauma work, healing happens in layers and that’s normal.
This is deep work. Sometimes things rise to the surface after an intensive, which is why integration is built in so you don’t walk away raw, but resourced.
You won’t be expected to finish everything. You will be supported in moving through something important.
-
Healing is at one and done. Some clients feel big relief, others using intensive as one step in their longer journey.
-
We’ll slow down and spend as much time resourcing as you need.
-
Yes. For Half-Day and Multi-Day EMDR Intensives, you can reserve your spot with 50% at booking and pay the remaining 50% seven days before your intensive begins. If you’re booking within 7 days of your intensive, the full balance is due at booking. Mini-Intensives (90-min or 3-hr) are due in full at booking.
-
Life happens, I get it. If you need to reschedule, your payment simply rolls over to a new date. I don’t offer refunds for intensives, but I do make sure you’re supported in finding a new time that works.
